Media Guidelines for Inauguration Coverage (1-15-09)

Media vehicles do not qualify as “authorized” vehicles as defined by the Virginia Inauguration Plan. Media are encouraged to use public transportation, car service, or shuttle bus to enter Washington, D.C. from Virginia. Media vehicles can drive into Washington, D.C. via Maryland.

Virginia is not credentialing any media personnel or vehicles. For credentialing information, please go to the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC): http://www.pic2009.org

Media vehicles are not permitted to park on Virginia Interstate shoulders, emergency lanes, emergency cross-overs, or medians. These access points must remain clear at all times for emergency vehicle response. Violators will be cited.
